Ezekiel 28 — The Fall of Tyre

Section 6 of 12

Section 06

👑 Verses 11–13 — The Lament for the King of Tyre

Moreover the word of YHWH came to me, saying:

“Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him,

‘Thus says The Almighty YHWH:

You were the seal of perfection,

full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

You were in Eden, the garden of The Almighty;

every precious stone was your covering…’”

Note:

The tone shifts — no longer addressing a mortal prince but the spiritual pattern behind him.

He’s portrayed as a cherub, once glorious and radiant — imagery that parallels ha-śāṭān, the celestial being who fell through pride.

The “Eden” reference symbolizes the height of beauty and favor before The Almighty.

Trade brought every treasure to Tyre — its luxury mirrored Eden’s abundance, but without Eden’s innocence.
